The Pacific Fishing Company, or PAFCO, in Levuka, Fiji, will now be able to store 4,000 metric tons of tuna in its new coldstorage facility, FBC reported.

The company, which is a supplier to Bumble Bee Foods, opened a new coldstorage facility worth $16.4 million.

This is a major boost for the tuna industry in Fiji, the country’s prime minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, said.

Bainimarama added PAFCO has come a long way since its establishment in 1964. With the opening of a new storage facility, the company is slowly transforming financially, he also noted.
